Music on the Marsh: Dom Flemons Live at The Nature Place Thursday, November 13 | The Nature Place, La Crosse, WI The Nature Place is proud to host the 4th Annual “Music on the Marsh” benefit concert, featuring Dom Flemons, known as “The American Songster®.” Flemons’ repertoire spans over a century of American roots music. A GRAMMY Award-winning artist, he’s a folk musician, Black country artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music scholar, historian, actor, slam poet, record collector, curator, podcaster, and cultural commentator. He is also the creator and host of The American Songster Radio Show on WSM in Nashville, TN. As the co-founder and original member of the groundbreaking Carolina Chocolate Drops—the first Black string band to win a GRAMMY Award—Flemons has spent more than 25 years preserving and celebrating the diverse musical traditions of America. He was recently inducted into the Banjo Music Hall of Fame and continues to be one of the most influential voices in American roots music today.
